More Turmoil At The Toon

Well folks it goes from bad to worse if you are a Newcastle United fan right now. Not only have the sacked well liked manager Chris Hughton but there are now strong rumours that the club will be selling Joey Barton in the transfer window for a mere £1.5 million. Now many at the club might not be to saddened to see the back of Barton who’s been in and out of trouble since signing from Man City but the price tag of £1.5 mil must be making the Toon fans sick.

What else can Newcastle possibly do to screw up their chances of staying in the Premier League and rebuilding the club to a point in which it can push for European football? It’s one long list of jokes and the turmoil is still coming. One feels there could be more in the pipeline if Pardew breaks up the team that’s there right now.

At the moment most betting sites have Newcastle United at 6/1 to go down and by the looks of it that might not be a bad price at all!

It’s certainly not a Merry Christmas on Tyneside as far as the Toon are concerned1

Newcastle Sack Manager

Newcastle have sacked manager Chris Hughton in a shock turn of events which sees the club sent into termoil on yet another destabilizing decision made by the board. Hughton has brought the Toon back up from the Championship last year and has managed to claim 19 points so far this season which see’s Newcastle sitting mid table in the Premiership.

Mike Ashley club owner is thought to have been heavily involved in the decision to get rid of Hughton and will surely have turned fans even further against him in what seems to be one of the most insane footballing decisions ever made. As the fans sing to Ashely on a regular basis ‘Get out of our club, get out of our club you fat cockeny B***ARD get out of our club’.

Rumours suggest that next in line to take the post could be Martin Jol who last night left his post at Ajax. Would the Dutchman be crazy enough to take a job on Tyneside? Only time will tell.

Bingo At Liverpool FC

What is going on at Liverpool FC right now? Are they selling are they buying? who knows but one things for sure their current form is terrible, like seriously terrible. God knows what Roy Hodgson is doing. It’s like he’s playing bingo with team selection right now and no matter what combination of numbers comes out the results are shocking. The tip of the ice berg for fans was the 2-1 defeat at the hands of Blackpool this weekend which saw Liverpool drop ever further down the Premier League table. Their current form is the form of a side who are on the verge of relegation!

I can just imagine Hodgson sat at home with his Mrs who’s playing online bingo. The convosation goes something a little like this:

“Ok love, let’s assign players to numbers on your ticket”

“What do you mean Roy?”

“Well look number 9′s there, that can be Torres, if it comes out we’ll play him if not we’ll say he’s still injured!”

“I’m not sure using online bingo halls (a link for the mrs – she owns this site) to pick the team is a good idea Roy!”

“Shut up women I’m out of options and I can’t find the dice since we moved from Fulham”

On a more serious note if Liverpool’s form doesn’t improve then Hodgson is going to get the boot in super quick time.

Amir Khan – How Good Is He?

Amir Khan is always a hot topic of convostation in the boxing world and quite frankly the dury is still out on him. Some people love him, some people hate him, he’s obviously got some talent but how much is certainly in question.

He’s been hyped up to the absolute maximum and we’re sure he makes a lot of cash. Would we pay 20 quid to watch him on Sky Box Office? Probably not, his fights are usually over in the space of three rounds and he’s stood over some has been boxer posturing like he’s heavyweight champion of the world.

Only time will tell on the career of Amir Khan but if he doesn’t really break into the top flight soon with a big win then questions will continue to be asked and the buzz surrounding him might well fizzle out.

Aside from the fact he never fights anyone decent he’s also a Bolton football fan!

England Euro Qualifying Performance

So after the World Cup we thought we better post a review of Englands performance in the first two Euro 2012 qualification games. Again we don’t like to say to many positive things on this blog but for the most part we thought England we impressive.

The first half of the first game was a little bit dodgey but from them on in we liked the football we whitness and it was good to see Defoe scoring again at an international level.

One thing that we just have to point out to MR Capello is the fact that Johnson is a country mile better than Theo Walcott. It’s plain for everyone to see. Theo seems to have moments of brilliance but then looks very average the rest of the game whilst Johnson has moments of brilliance and when he’s not being brilliant he still manages to put in a solid performance. If you watched both games then you’ll surely be in agreement with us Theo out and Johnson in. It’s not even close.

Review Of Pakistan Cricket

Well as far as we are concerned Pakistan cricket can go and shove itself. What a bunch of morons, not that recent news of spot fixing surprises us, but still what a joke. Not only is their captain involved in the scandal but 18 year old fast bolwer Amir is also under investigation.

Amir is one of the most exciting young cricketers around and has been taking wickets for fun in test match cricket. Here’s a young guy who was about to land himself a big fat IPL contract and he got greedy fixing matches for cash when long term he’d of almost certainly made more cash playing cricket and becoming a world beater.

Salman Butt’s inclusion in the fiasco came as a bit of a shock. He seemed like a decent bloke, maybe not a good captain but certainly not a cheat. These guys should be kicked out of international cricket forever. Someone needs to make an example of them, it’ll have to be the ICC because the Pakistan cricket board could well be in on it as well!

Our Opinion On F1

There seems to be a lot of people out there who love F1. We’re not sure why but it’s mega popular when in reality is actually pretty boring. There are two good moments in any Formula 1 race:

1) When the race begins and everyone goes hell for leather to get into postion. This position is normally the poistion they finish the race in.

2) When they crash. Now we don’t like to see any sportsmen get hurt but there’s something about crashes in F1 that are truly an awesome speciticle.

Aside from the above two events the rest of F1 is pants. They just go round and round and round the track not overtaking each other. The only time people change poistion seems to be when someone is forced to retire from the race, which seems to happen alot.

These guys get paid such a lot of cash for what they do. Driving a car around a track does not warrent million dollar contracts and a lifestlye of luxury.

Wayne Rooney’s Performances Reviewed

Following on from our World Cup review we thought we better do a review of Wayne Rooneys World Cup performances. It’s not going to be pretty reading.

Lets start with Rooney’s ball control. Seriously we have never seen the ball bounce off anyone like it did with Rooney during the World Cup. At times it looked like he didn’t have a clue about controlling the ball infact he didn’t have clue!

It’s hard to review Rooney’s performance infront of goal as his first touch was so poor that he rarely got into a position to stike the ball goalwards.

Effort …. erm not terrible but certianly not good Wayne. Maybe this was down to a lack of fitness, who knows? If fitness was the problem then Capello should have had the balls to drop him or bring him off the pitch.

One things for sure though, Rooney will be top class for Man United this season. It’s always the way.
